Week Seven: No Design Brief But Mock-ups Done
When I suggested to my group in our last meeting about using some of the research and information I have done it was not so much ignored but they had the feeling it might be too much work to do. I could understand that but I don't think that we are going on the right track with the project as the colors that are being picked are not for teens or kids even and designs from our graphic designers are not very good and I know it's still early in development. But they don't seem to want to change them. They seem to think that this does not need much development due to the amount of content we are going to give, but I was trying to explain that we could do less content but make that content really good. And the point was raised that it's up to the designer to decide what the colors and looks of all the content should be, while I think that we should all be throwing in suggestions.
I fished some of my mockups of the website some based on what others had done and then some development of what we could change. Like the logos that Mo had done were not in my opinion really hitting the mark on our target audience. So I decided to make one for my mockups that was just localized. I think I might have to do some more to get the message of the site right as it feels like it needs some more development but for the moment I think they will get the message across to the client, that they may need to look more trendy to attract more teens.
