Week One: Getting Started

This week was my first week back at college so we have not done a lot in the way of work but we have been give task to do like a 500 word description of what roles we would like to under take for the external industry project. This was I think to gauge what we would be best suited to do and to get numbers for the roles. This was a good idea as there will probably be roles that people don't want to do like project manager as it would be a less hands on, practical role.

The roles that I think I’m best suited to doing for the external industry project are the roles for web design/programming and graphic design. As these two roles would have the most experience in using in the real world. I have worked with a documentary maker from Dundalk, Marcus Howard in designing and producing DVD disc cover, DVD case covers, DVD menus for several of his short  1916 documentary films he has made. I have also done a mobile friendly website layout for a company, Global Green Composites. I feel like this has given me so good experience in dealing with clients that can be picky and a little difficult. Because of this I feel more confident in working with any of the given organisation on this project.

I know myself that the manager role is one of the more stress full roles as it has more response abilities that are more organizing, keeping people on track and communicating with the clients. I would not mind doing this role as long as I didn't have to do audio as I feel that I am very weak it that aspect. I hope to hear on Monday on what groups I get as well as the roles.
